It would be nice to show the process of making an end grain cutting board with limited equipment, perhaps equipment sold at your stores. Not many people have access to a $50,000 sliding table saw or a $10,000 drum sander.
Edging 😂😂😂😂😂
The Saw Duster Thruster?
I’m usually pretty satisfied with Lee Valley products. Not this table. Very cheaply made. The connections to the tap are the cheapest plastic fitting available. It leaks and leaks and leaks. Terrible. Also there is a black material at the bottom of the sink that has come unglued and has fallen on the ground. Not impressed.
lol right off the bat, why is there a heater up by the ceiling? I’m just as confused as Nick! Heat rises… there’s a reason heaters are all sold as floor units. Why would you ever put a heater that high up, it wouldn’t do anything, especially in a shop like that… lol
Brilliant. Thank you
Can't you employ someone even an actor to do this so it's worth watching
Awesome please send Australia
The best commercial ever!!!! Love it!!
Thank you for another excellent video!
We're glad you enjoyed it!

Very lovely video !
Sell more tools by providing direct links to every tool used in the video.
Amazing shop. But something I noticed, is it me more or is the lighting terribly dim??
Could be the filter they used to film
I'm happy that I found a Veritas chisel plane. I almost went with a competitor that makes their planes overseas, but I'm happy to go with Veritas because it's Made in Canada!
good stuff, good for her
The stock breakfast photo!! 2:30
"promo sm" 😩
👍🏾
I love the word "Atelier"... :-)
would love a 90 minute video of inside Offerman woodshop!
My Veritas planes are my prized possessions.
what are the dimenisionS?
I had one for 7 yrs, it would never sit square. In the end I sold it.
Oups. It’s been on my wish list for a while 🤔
Same
Thank you for the tour! You're obvously happy in that environment.
Great video!
Love the angles of the piece. :)
Incredible videos! Thanks for all your knowledge and explanation. I am excited to get started on my first project! Thanks for the channel!!
Beautiful chessboard! I definitely want to make one for my daughter. Thanks for the video!
It's really cool to see him purely as a woodworker, rather than an actor who woodworks. This shows him in a very different light which honestly offers a new perspective of who he is.
Diane - you are a very inspiring person! I hope you will post more about your journey with the woodshop.
Love Jimmy Diresta wandering by in the background!
Great video and information! Thanks for your channel!
Thank you! We're glad you enjoy the content!
Nice family
I need to know the dirty name... please
I wonder if it's just the camera exposure or dramatic lighting for the film, but it's almost dangerously dark in this workshop! I know they produce fabulous pieces and are skilled craftsman, but I would go crazy straining to see all day long. Nick is looking fit tho!
The two lessons I learned from this video are 1.) his connection to works of service he learned from his family (as opposed to what he refers to as the money economy) and 2.) when he said after every good acting job, he'd get another machine, reminding me that these kinds of spaces are built slowly; that it's not about having all the tools but about working with what you have until you can afford the next step.
I would think he could afford better tools?
Might be the greatest man to ever walk the earth.
You meant 1/16 inch tolerance right? Framing is called "rough carpentry" in the CSI estimating schedules. But not that rough. 1/4" tolerance would not get it done on any job site I would like to put my name on. Love the shop tours.
I can only hope its real name is the tower of power.
can we get a longer version of this please, Offerman is such a wealth of woodworking and life philosophy . maybe link him up with jay blades from @therepairshop
I assume that works because of the camera shutter?
What a remarkable fellow Nick Offerman is. Thanks Lee Valley for this great video.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We are glad you enjoyed it. 😄
Always enjoyable to get a glimpse of the inside of a unique workshop.
Glad you enjoyed it!😃🙌
That's such a good series of short films, keep doing those.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We appreciate your support. 😃
Very nice simple instructions. But I believe you overlooked explaining that the joints need to be alternated for the cross lap. There may be some new woodworkers that might miss that part. Thanks!
Cool to hear her journey and see where she’s ended up. Determination and kindness.
This is genuinely my ideal workspace and philosophy. I have a difficult conundrum with production vs. quality. At this time, I am unable to sacrifice quality for quantity. From what I have read from Nick in his excellent book, and seen from this video and others, I am grateful to know there are others who seem to put the quality of the product before the quantity.
Lee Valley, would you consider printing this on a metal sign or poster? I would hang it in my shop garage for inspiration. Especially when a project goes horribly wrong!
